2021 Annual Appeal Letter
Greetings from Camp Chippewa!
We hope your year has been filled with blessings and peace. In 2021, Camp Chippewa has continued to grow with the help of many supporters, volunteers, campers, and staff, and most of all, the blessings of our gracious God. While we experienced some setbacks in our Summer Camps, Institute, and Volunteer Work Retreats, due to Covid-19, we worked together to share the knowledge and love of Christ with all, through nature and fellowship. The mission of Chippewa is to provide an atmosphere, in a simple outdoor setting, where individuals can experience the presence of God in nature, form a relationship with Jesus Christ and others, nurture one’s journey as a disciple of our Lord and Savior, experience spiritual and personal growth and renewal, and serve non-profit groups for the betterment of God’s world. This mission requires the help of many, and resonates in the countless memories, stories, and testimonies of anyone whose life was changed by Camp Chippewa.
As we reflect on this past summer, we served 665 campers, providing Day Camp opportunities for the Ottawa Recreation Commission summer program, church groups, and families, as well as overnight retreats. Our wonderful horses were in on the fun as well, providing riding lessons for developing riders. With the compassionate support and gifts of Chippewa family members like you, we are able to bring all who enter our gates to the saving knowledge of Christ by providing activities and lodging in the beautiful, natural setting of God’s creation.
God is Good! He works in mighty and mysterious ways, through the hands and hearts of the incredible Chippewa campers, staff, volunteers, and supporters, like you. Your gifts allow for the continued growth, development, and improvement of programs, facilities, and outreach at Camp Chippewa, allowing us to positively affect the lives of those we serve. Your contributions, which you so graciously share, allow more people to experience God’s transformational love. Whether it be time, skills, resources, knowledge, or money, your generous gift allows God’s hand to be at work year-round.
In this season of thanksgiving and celebration, please consider making a gift to support our mission. We thank you for your support and invite you to be a part of God’s magnificent creation at Camp Chippewa, where Faith and Fun come together!
Grace & Peace,
James Rickner, Camp Director
