I am married to Lauren Rickner, my son Harrison was born in October 2016, and my daughter Henleigh born in July 2018. I was born in Oklahoma, but Humboldt, Kansas is where I was raised. After graduating high school, I attended FSCC for one year before transferring to Ottawa University. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Business Administration from OU. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I returned and completed my MBA. I worked at Camp Chippewa seasonally for five years while I was in school.
Since I started working at camp, I have attended various ACA, UMCRM, and CHA conferences and clinics. I am also on the Certified Horsemanship Assocation board and I have completed many certifications over the years, including; completion of ACA New Director Course, ACA Basic Camp Director Course, CHA certified riding instructor, CHA certified day ride trail guide, CDL, Red Cross life guard, and a private pesticide applicator license.
38 years ago, I married George Franks. We have 2 sons and 4 wonderful grandchildren! I moved to Ottawa from Washington State when I was 17 years old and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1977. The following March, I met my husband George, and we were married three months later. I started at Ottawa University when I turned 25 and my son turned 5. We both started learning computers at the same time; me at the University, and him in Kindergarten. I graduated from OU with my BA in Human Services and have been working with people in one capacity or another ever since. For many years, I enjoyed working with the elderly, and now I am truly enjoying spending my days with kids and working in this beautiful camp environment. Life is good!

Pastor Bud is married to Beth McCluney with 2 sons, Ryan and Andrew. I was born in Cocoa, Florida, but St. Louis, MO is home (although I am still not used to the Midwest winters and enjoy being barefoot). I have a B.A. Degree in Religion/Bible and a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies. God called me into full-time ministry my first year of College and have served Churches in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas as Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor. I recently worked as the Campus Pastor at Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS. God has given me a passion for working with young people and has opened the door for me to serve at Camp Chippewa.
